Hello everyone. I've just bought a 2011 Qubo Trekking. Very impressed 👍(apart from the heater🥶)
It's got just over 100,000miles on the clock and I want to change the timing chain as I'm sure it hasn't been done and I think I can hear the start of a small rattle. Seems an easy enough job.
Could anyone give me a link for the correct camshaft timing tool please. 1.3 diesel multijet. There's a few out there and prices vary wildly. Many thanks, Stewart.
 
I have done that job on the earlier 1.3 MJ diesels with a kit for around £30 odd, but I see on the later ones including the Qubo whilst you can get a basic timing kit for around £28 , if you need to get more involved with the locking of cams etc. to work on them then the choice seems more limited and expensive. for later engine numbers prices seem to be over £200 such as in this second photo.
Perhaps other Forum Members can advise.:)

Thanks, Mike. I'm using the attached video as a guide which is extremely helpul and detailed. The only "specialist" tools he uses for the job are an M16 bolt turned down to M12 at the front and a homrmade gizmo for lockingbthe cam sprocket. Hence my confusion at all the extra items. I'd expect a locking pin for the chain tensioner and possibly a locking tool for the belt tensioner but other than that his method "seems" sound. The relevant clip is at 11.00 on the video.

I am guessing the crank pulley is the same as the early version, in so much as anticlock to tighten.
In the kit I bought for the older version there was a locking tool for the crank pulley, this was rubbish that snapped right away.
Due to how tight the bolt is, both to undo and retighten, I had to use a 3 foot long stilson to hold the square block and a 3/4 drive socket and adaptor with extension to do the undoing and a decent torque wrench to retighten .
Note. Use a new crank pulley bolt .:)
