I have a Doblo 1.6 Diesel. It cut out when driving. Found it's The Timing belt that's snapped or came off. is it a Right off/ new engine needed Or New belt & pump.?

I'm more familiar with the Fiat petrol engines, some of which are not "interference". However diesels in general rarely get away without valve/piston damage when their belt lets go due to their pistons coming much closer to their heads - due to the much higher compression ratio of diesels. So the likely hood is that damage will have taken place. Although not familiar with the diesels I've seen posts on our forum to the effect that some of the diesels tend to break their rocker gear rather than smash up the valves/pistons so a careful check is in order before summarily declaring it "dead".

Replacement engine required.

How many miles vehicle covered?
How many miles since belt last replaced?
