Have done 15,000 in 9 months since I have owned my Multipla, now mileage is 37,000 miles. My clutch is starting to slip when changing from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, normally ok in 4th and 5th. Reading other threads, seems a common issue on changing the clutches at around 40,000 miles. I admit the 1st owner only covered 22,000 miles in 4.5 years, an no doubt was a towny driver.

Like doing water pumps when cam belts are changed, is it wise to do the DMF and the crankshaft oil seal ( Transmission Side ), when changing out the clutch with a new kit? As Multipla in for a service next monday and may as well have the clutch done as well.

Also have noticed what seems a very good offer on Valeo clutch products on-line where the 3 piece clucth kit is £78.00 and the Valeo DMF is £176.00. Good Offer ?? Or Not ?

BuyPartsBy (SAF) have got clutch kits for £79.58 and DMFs for £166.49, inc. VAT and delivery. I think both are LUK items. Who's selling the Valeo? Don't forget bolts if the DMF is changed. I think they're around £12/set.

The crankshaft seal that sits behind the DMF is about £30 (it's a big sucker); gearbox input shaft seal around £10? If you're going to that length, I'd get the gearbox input bearing replaced as well.

I usually plump for the cheapest parts I can find, but with things that take so much time/effort to replace, I nearly always go with genuine/OEM items.

When I replaced my Clutch, I priced one up from my local Fiat dealer (just for a laugh, while I was in there getting the Seals).
Turns out it was only a tenner or so more than the quotes I'd got from other local Factors, for 'lesser' brands.
It included the Release Bearing also, whereas the others didn't (of course I'd already bought one ).

Got the Valeo 3 pce clutch kit and Valeo DMF, and the transmission crankshaft seal from www.carparts4less.co.uk
£263.95 delivered next day.
Got also what you recommended from local factors.

Now all fitted and the Multipla is totally different to drive.

My local Fiat/Alfa Indie are just the best when it comes customer service, they can either supply the parts and fit, all the customer can supply and they will fit them for you. While having the clutch done with the DMF, they also did the 12k service, renewed the EGR I got and did a fresh MOT with no advisories. Expensive visit, but have long term piece of mind.

I bought :

Saab EGR with gaskets ( Same as Fiat one, half the price ): £59.00 delivered
Valeo 3 pc Clutch and Valeo DMF, Cranksaft Seal : £263.35 delivered
Input bearing and DMF bolts etc : £22.00 delivered
Mobil 1 oil 5w/30, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, carbon filter : £54.20 delivered

Garage Labour Cost :

12k Service and Fit all of the above plus a new MOT : £245.00

I think not a bad result. Only issue I had is a warning light prior to the service, that I will mention in another post as not clutch related.
