Does anyone have any tips on tightening the interior rear view mirror so it doesn't gradually droop over time? I've had it off the screen, which is easy, but the screw at the back only secures the ball mount to the bracket. The ball is evidently a press-fit into the back of the mirror with no means of adjustment. Can the ball be popped out?

The ball should be able to be popped out of the mirror. Typically, there won't be anything there to tighten. I'd possibly look at wedging some rubber (a winsdscreen wiper could work) in behind the pawls to give them a bit more bite on the ball.

Thanks UFI. Doesn't appear this is a common issue. If I can safely pop the ball out I'll try something like that.
