Recently purchased a 78 Spider, I see the throttle lever but I'm thinking its not connected or working as it does not seem to affect the starting or running of engine, any insights are appreciated. The engine does need several minutes to warm up before I am able to drive it as it stalls out with any acceleration.

Thanks

I am guessing yours has a twin choke carb and not fuel injection.
Often the carb has a small rod linkage that runs from the choke control flap area down to the primary throttle link.
If it is bent a little it has the affect of increasing the revs whilst on choke, it is largely trial and error and mustn't be done to the extent that it affects engine revs when off choke completely.
If you inspect the operation with the air filter removed you will see if the rod is in place or not.
A photo of yours with filter removed will be a help.:)
