Ok Brains trust, I am looking for a replacement throttle cable for a 1982 X 1/9 and I see there are a few types and mine my even be missing dome fittings as it’s broken below the engine bracket.

See attached some images of the bracket and the attachment still hanging on the rocker ball..

Any guidance appreciated

Hopefully you get the correct parts, but if outer cable still in place it may be possible to make up an inner from motorcycle parts stockist, I used to make up my own cables on motorbikes using a roll of the correct diameter inner and outer cable then using the ferruls and ends soldered them on for foot brake, throttle cables, clutch cables etc.:)

That may well be the way to go, I can get the inner cable so I may have a look at the pedal end and measure it up and see how I go..

Yes, I’ve had to resort to this multiple times. If you have to attempt it this way, and the cable is cut and splayed, hold it all together and solder the end or, if you have one, put a crimp nipple (obviously smaller than the outer cable), put a lot of Vaseline on the cable and, for each 10” you feed through, put more Vaseline on

Ok old throttle cable systematically dismantled and inner and outer has seen far better days and has Undergone several resurrections in the past 43 Years.
I will salvage the fittings either end and replace everything in-between, I may need to turn up a few little anti abrasion fittings out of nylon..
