My throttle cable is on not so good shape at the engine end. How is this replaced? Is the whole thing (cable and sheath replaced or just the interior cable? Where is it attached to the pedal - underneath or from within the car. Thanks.

Tha cable runs inside the car up inside the 'tunnel'. The front part of the tunnel tin work can be removed to make life a little easier.
There is a guide in the online haynes manual at the top of the classic 500 section in the 'fuel' section.(y)

As my car is still in bits, I took this photo of the accelerator pedal and new cable. I'm not sure whether the attachment of the cable to the pedal is standard, but I can't see any other way of securing it.
The cable inner is stiff wire so if your sheath is OK, it may be possible to thread a new inner wire through without replacing the entire cable. You would have to disconnect it from the carby end and pull it out from the pedal end.
I can take more photos if you wish.
Chris
