Hi all. I have a bravo 2.0 hgt. Not had the car and not a mechanic so sorry if I sound stupid lol. The car has erratic idling takes a second or two to accelerate after gear change. Has lost a bit of power and plug warning light is on. Is also heavier on fuel.....can hear an air sucking kind of noise to left of maf sensor by the two big black plugs...any ideas?

Have you tried checking for a loose pipe from the airbox, or a loose breather hose? They would make an air sucking noise. An air leak will cause a loss of power and increased fuel consumption.

I may have just deleted my response so here goes again. I have had two cars - not - Nissan Micra and Seat Leon with same problems. WAs told to clean the throttle body. In both cases I did not have the time so a local garage did each for about £35 and they have both been perfect since. You can do this yourself. Remove the air cleaner if in top of the throttle body and then reove the throttle body. Its just 4 or 6 screws and any wires / pipes Place upright on a bench and spray carb cleaner all over. Wipe clean with lint free cloth - old pillow case would do nicely - and then reassemble. Don't drop the screws!!! You may need a new gasket or seal. Clean outside and inside and don't smoke while working......

Both my cars have been running fine for months since cleaned.

Good luck
