Thoughts Please on new Purchase...

I've got a set of Back Brakes sitting here Craig.
They've hardly been used as they came off Ming's Red Cinq, as he changed the brakes to Discs.

2001 MPI Engine, nice wee cars, decent price an all.
Go for it Craig.
Tax for 6months £90.75 & £165 for 12months , also got a spare set of H4 Headlight bulbs, 2 Foglight bulbs & few other bulbs. Can bring them up to the meet if you're able to come along Craig.

Edit: forgot Craig I also have an MPI Starter motor sitting in my room doing nothing, apart from getting in the way.

been in a front end crash at some point. has a replacement bonnet and bumper and even them are bent, the headlights dont seem to lign up either. and the front of the passanger sill looks asif rust can be starting.

imo ive never bought a sei for over 500... first one was mint when i got it and my last one, all be it a spi was £100 and other than a new bonnet was mint condition

that said other than the above mentioned things... and im being harsh just so you can check them out it looks pretty tidy overall. over priced though. people think as its a mpi its worth more but thats not true. its 10 years old now. its probably worth 500 max....

pluss my tax is only 125 and has never been higher... its 68 for 6month

When was you're first registerd then Steve??
I got the prices for the tax off the DVLA/ Direct.gov website.

As for Tax £63.25 (6months) £115 (1yr) on my Punto.

And as for the Front bumper sloping, my Sei had that, dunno why just did, I see what you mean about the Headlights Steve, & it could just be me but... I think that Sei's got a Mk1 Bumper on as the Foglight grill's have fins on them, which the SPI/ Mk1's had but the MPI/ Mk2's didn't have with the exception of the Abarth iirc.

Steve tax on SES:
£71.50 (6months) £130 (1yr)

its defo a mk2 bumper not even slightly similar to mk1 bumpers lol.

tax i got off my tax disc and after owning a sei for 6 years now and its 125 every year and of course taxing my seicento thismorning :) it was 68 for 6month first registered in 2000

tax bracket for seicento..

13 Jun 1998 – 1 Mar 2001 £68.75 £125.00
1 Mar 2001 – 1 Jun 2004 £82.50 £150.00

lol saying the mpi was supposed to be more efficiant its tax is higher on emmisions.....

Will give thae car a good look over and try to bring the price down.....thanks for the info fellas.....
Not going to make Meet at weekend, Andi, will be at St Andrews, so feel free to bring any spare bits along.

Nope, car before 1998 or didn't get checked for emission they priced it according to engine size, so anything below 1400cc will pay 125 / year ~~~~

Ming

yeh andi that is a mk 2 front bumper mk1 had a roundy front bumper mk had more of a squarey with Big air vents in the bumper

i can see what your saying steve about the bumper , is it just not the angle of the picture is taken , if it has a front end smash it will be easy enooungh to fix

When you go to look at it make sure the inner wings are stright and not crumpled ..

Does look alright apart from the things Steve mentioned plus the exhaust needs to be more visible :p

Sorry to hear you're getting rid of the Stilo, though I know you've had your issues with it. Plus of course this should be more fun, needs lowered though :)

oK, have bought the car....yes it has got front end damage, slam panel bent, front bumper slight cracks (fixable) needs new headlight and a bonnet. will be attaching a chain to it the morrow and try to straighten in out, if not by pure chance my sister old yelowl cento is in the local scrappies.....my new donor vehicle me thinks.....will grab the bonnet, slam panel and exhaust system off it at weekend..

On the plus side rest of body work is in very good condition, timing belt done last may at 86,000 and seems mechanically sound, drove back from Falkirk with it, all seems good.

Needs lowered, anyone got any springs going....?

Mission is know to get it up to scratch before St Andrews.

cool. hope you dont mind me asking how much it was? the original price was good if you had the cash and wanted the car i suppose.

glad you had alook for damage (or they told you) as it wasnt quite right but with a few pulls you should hardly be able to tell :p .

as for the mk1-mk2 headlight debate, get either there all the same just some have fins underneath that screw on or off so easy to swap.

hope u like the car anyways and keep us all up to date on the progress and as you will know there is lots of cento knoledge floating around here to keep you amused for hours.

The boy wanted 650 got it for 550, the guy was full of it. Said his dad paid 3000 for it 2.5 years ago.......(as if).....he said the front damage was caused by snow, only way snow could cause that damage was if it was drivin into a igloo.....Going to give it to my MOT tester tommorow for him to look over, and give me the offical verdict, but i do not expect to have to fork out more than 100 for parts to get her Roadworthy.....Induction kit already orderd...LOL

Bit of a Flase ADD from gumtree yet again....4 new tyres it said, 2 new 1 ok and the other on 2mm.....V5 Present the add said, V5 not there, he is dropping it round at weekend. MOT the add said, NO it fecking isn't....

But still i thought it was worth the punt.....And looking forward to the fun........Going to miss the Stilo when it goes, but the dammed electrics are annoying me, and i casn see that costing me more to get sorted.

James, what I mean about the bumper is it looked similar to NEO's Front bumper.
Think what NEO's looked like, then think back to what mine looked like when it was in ok(ish) condition.
It's the grille's by the Foglights looks more Mk1 than Mk2.

Or it could just be the angle the photo was taken at.

Craig
1) Shame you can't make it to the meet (boo hiss)
2) Parts will be at St Andrews that's not a problem
3) At least you can get the tyres cheap good ol 165/55 R13 70H, personally I'd recommend the Nankangs, & NOT the Pirreli's.

well aslong as your happy with it mate :) the guy sounds like a bit of a tit, my sei now was hit by a bus at the front and has less visible damage than the snow incident so id like to see the snow lmaoo.

what parts do you think it needs? a slam pannel is not part of the mot as in the event of a crash it doesnt carry any load, its litterally there to hold the lights and bumper.

nope. sold them all within the week of it going.

either way pop up a list of anything you will need and we could probably sort something. but looks ok to run about as is?

In terms of lowering, just go the full hog and get coilovers - kind of wishing I'd done that with the Stilo even if the practicality of the car's somewhat compromised as a result

Funnily enough with the Stilo (though I'm probably jinxing it), it's never really been electrical issues I've had just mechanical. Had the airbag warning near to when I first picked it up, but got that fixed under the warranty that was still covering it at the time and that's about it apart from the odd erroneous "check engine" message when nowt's wrong but that was solved with a new battery and checking the earths.

Anyway though, hope the Sei checks out and you're able to enjoy it :)
