I think the general idea is, they fit them shortly afterwards, at a mutually convenient time.

Not deprive the original buyer of them permanently.

Inconvenient, and for which one would expect some kind of fair recompense, but mot thrft per se...

Sheesh....what planet eh>? :bang:

Amazing diversity of opinion and would definitely take onboard if was my car but, as i mentioned its the wifes and she really wanted one.

Must make a very worthy point though. The retail price of a vehicle and general level of a manufacturers product range in the market is linked to quality of sales and aftersales.

Why???

Coz when i purchased my BMW last year, the salesman would have wiped my backside had i required it even after signing. At no point did i have any problem whatsoever, let alone a dirty bottom:D and still the wife got flowers and other complimentary goodies....absolute class.

Have had new Fords and even VWs and suffered from substandard service before and after at some point!
Must admit that not surprised, i told her to get a Mini but what do i know????:bang:

Sometimes parts are not available on time, simple as that.

Maybe somebody in the dealership didn't do his job properly, who knows?

All I'm saying is, it's not really the end of the world is it?

Turn the 'problem' into something good, like some complimentary accessories or a free service, but don't let it spoil your enjoyment.

Really, lifes too short! :p

oh they are gonna be sorry they messed with my bambina, she is not for turning:nono:

think we'll end up with a free car let alone free servicing:ROFLMAO:

we can wait a few more days and it will be just like it says on the tin:woot:

Must say that's not what I've seen (so far). The service, approach & care I've had from my deaer have exceeded my expectations. Can't fault them at all.

I think it's a dealer thing, not a price / maker thing...

I have to agree, our dealer was fab and I got flowers, not sure he'd have tended to my behind  but they were fab. For the record Westover Fiat in Salisbury!

I don't think the 500 is a cheap car, perhaps the mini is just an expensive car :p

Can't agree, having seen them being painted and fitted on site.

I would assume special order cars would probably have them fitted, but many cars which didn't, subsequently did, and some of those would have been assumed to have been factory fited.

Does that lot make sense? LOL

The Wifes Abarth came from Westover in Poole, stunning service, Best new car purchase ever & weve bought a few. :) Looking after the customer must be company policy, sort of like it always used to be (y)

At least by her not opting for a Mini you don't have to worry about the power steering packing in as she enters a round about:eek:

To add some debate to the dealer aftersales and customer care etc... when I picked my 500 up the dealer didnt realise we were coming that day even though we had booked it. Car wasnt ready, it was grubby inside and they had removed the sill trims it had in the showroom leaving a gluey residue behind. We did get some flowers:) Never heard anything from them or Fiat afterwards. They were good with the sale though, very helpful.

After picking the smart up, Ive had 2 phone calls in 3 weeks asking how things are, had a gearbox software check carried out while I waited with short notice and got £600 more for my 500 as a trade in than Fiat would offer.

Picked up Jennys new Pug 107 yesterday, dealer has been brilliant and Peugeot insist all their cars come back after 1 month for a check over for free:) Thats been booked already at a time to suit. Managed to get a great discount, test drive with no notice and Pug are going to ring to see how we feel about the buying experiance. Car was delivered immaculate, as was the smart.

Ive never had the sort of service above from any Fiat dealer, or Fiat. At the moment that alone will seriously make me wonder if another Fiat in future is a good idea.
