Hi all,

I've popped over from the Stilo section, as mine is reaching her 6th birthday and I'm looking to trade her in for a younger, better proportioned model...

Looking at a few options carwise but I like the Bravo - I want to keep with a diesel as mine has been excellent and so hasn't let us down, so will be a 150 or 165 brake I think.

Few questions for the well informed here, if you don't mind.

1) I'm sure I read that the bravo lights up the door handles on the car.. is this true? Is it external or internal?

2) I like the way the stilo auto-locks the car over a certain speed (especially living in the carjacking hotzone of Salford!) Does the Bravo do the same?

3) what's with two different displays on the dash (parkers shows two types) Which is the clearer and easiest to read?

4) on the lower spec model the armrest seems to be a plastic tray - does that lift up so you can cool/heat bottles in the part underneath?

5) can you put any USB stick with songs on it, and the player will pick them up? is it easy to navigate? does it play all common formats of songs?

6) is there an option for electic folding door mirrors?

cheers for your help!

I can answer some of your questions.

1. Inside, its not so much light up but a dark orange glowing bar to show you where they are. Not distracting at all.

2. Yes it autolocks above a speed, not sure what mine must be about 5 or 10mph.

3. Theres the sport white dials but I believe they dont exist any more, certainly my 165 sport doesnt have them then there are the 2 different digital displays, one like the Grande punto which I think is the multifunction one and the older style which is on the 165 sport. I belive its the dualogics and the 150 tjets that have the multifunction one. To be honest its hardly a big issue.

4. The plastic armrest is also on the Sport not just the lower spec ones ;) and no it doesnt lift, if it does I am missing a trick.

5. MP3 and WMA and WAV. I have had trouble with some MP3's I suspect it may be limited bitrate playback. It doesnt work with apples DRM'd stuff so any old ITunes purchases wont work off USB. I think most songs on ITunes are DRM free now so you should be ok even if you do have to convert to MP3.

6. Havnt the foggiest.

Hope this has been of some help.

Q1: The door handle light is not on the Active. I have a blanking piece where they would be.

Q2: There's a button by the radio that locks all the doors, even when stationary, as well as the automatic option mentioned above.

Q6: Apparently, it's an option in some countries.

Me and the wife have just moved from owning two Stilo's (an Abarth and a 1.8 Dynamic) to a Bravo Tjet 150, and a Punto Mjet.

I think for the price these cars are much better value than the Renaults, Fords etc... of the same class.

I'm really happy with both, but I was also happy with both the Stilo's and like you, only replaced them as they were getting on a bit.

:)

the 150 engine i have in mine is plenty nippy enough, a squeeze of the right foot (as long as the revs are at nearly 2000rpm), will see you overtaking cars with ease (y) i can only imagine how fast the 165 is :D... im seeing tanks averages ranging from 45mpg upto around 55mpg (480 miles to 600ish miles to a tank)

its internal, there are also lights in the roof which light up the centre lower console (gearstick... cupholders etc)

yes it does.... abover 15mph i believe? i love this feature... makes me feel extra safe (and its especially good with it being a 5dr car) (y)

do you mean climate control and air conditioning? mines got the climate control and its really easy to read/use :)

the lower spec models (and some sport models i believe), dont have the fridge  (at least some i looked at didnt), but get a dynamic spec and its standard (y), its big enough to hold a few chocolate bars... or a small bottle of powerade and a chocolate bar :D

5) can you put any USB stick with songs on it, and the player will pick them up? is it easy to navigate? does it play all common formats of songs?

not sure on the format of the songs, but all mine are transferred over from standard windows media player (y) (MP3), my 8GB memory pen cost me £12 and saves me always swapping cds over and i play my music on random setting :)

6) is there an option for electic folding door mirrors?

not in the uk im afraid :(

hope this sumarises up what you were after... and good luck with your purchase (y)

i went from a 115jtd stilo 3door to a bravo and the only thing i miss is the skyroof and more sporty looks of the stilo i had.... the bravo is a lot comfier.. faster.. and more economical even with a bigger engine

cheers for the replies people

Josh - have you lost some trim on your handbrake? looks like somethign could fall in there accidentally

Q3, if I'm right, refers to the 2 types of in-dash displays, not the climate control.

I have the Active model, so have the Multifunction Display. Other models have the Reconfigurable Multifunction Display. FK what the difference is.

yeah it wasnt there when i picked the car up.... (i went from putting a deposit down to having the car in 3 days so they only had chance to service and prepare and tax it)... so they refitted the plastic cover missing the week after... i was so keen to get the car :D

Haha, I can see the floor through your handbrake! Nice nipple lights!

there the best... i love them... they remind me of a very audi esque type things and i love the nice warm red glow i get... which isnt to in your face like some cars (y)

tbh... i think fiat really have got it just right.. the soft upholstery on the arm rest on the door... the doors arm rest is nice and comfy (The stilos got a bit scratchy after a while)... and the whole dash seems to have a really solidish soft touch feel to it :)
