Thinking of selling my modified Brava

I've been thinking about selling up the brava and getting something jap like a 200sx s14 shape or similiar, am interested to know anyones opinions on these motors, or any other ideas? bearing in mind insurance is an issue other wise i'd be looking at skylines or something that i've seen on autotrader for 6kish!

i know i'll never get the value of all the mods i've done to the car, but was wondering realistically what people tihnk i should look for?

P reg fiat brava elx
2ltr 8v turbo engine, all receipts that show its been fully rebuilt and done about 8k since

uprated inlet cam, chip, hadwork to lower compresion and allow more boost! uprated fuel pump, custom exhaust, induction kit. power is 230bhp and 265bhp with chip on standard engine so probably touch over that. or that is a realistic figure!

full carzone specials kit, modified f50 bonnet vent tints. front splitter smoothed in at moment rear was planned to be done. also have solenoid kit to fit, have been quoted £500 to fit and smooth handles and tidy up front and rear bumper, i would do this before selling 17" mille miglia actions, goodyear eagle f1 GSD3's, if anyone ever put any other tyre on this car i'd be extremely pissed off!

wilwood 4 pot calipers, and 300mm discs, uprated dampers, with sdjustable damping, bravo HGT Springs(stiffer and take weight of new engine better!)

custom pod made to house Ractive boost gauge, ractive Tacho.

i would really want to keep my ICE to put in next car, but could leave full boot build ready to take two 15" subs

doorcards trimmed in blue, plastic around painted silver, some of dash painted silver.

any ideas from anyone? dont worry i wont get stroppy with suggestions! i know most of what i've done probably depreciate value in most peoples minds!

i'm sure a lot of people have seen pics, it is the car featured in the carzone specials catalogue, and has been loved and modified and maintained with no expense spared.

allan if u break ill swap a lot of my stuff for cash aswell.... let us know mate...

my m8 has got a 200sx s14a there rapid m8 lol abit rwd happy tho! they are the most popular car to drift in cause they lack the traction! wiv a few minor mods u can acheive 280 bhp from straight thur zaust and air filter and boost up to 1bar!

watch for piston slap m8 if u do, s14's the older models wiv the newer shape have that major problem and it cant be fixed it will happen no matter weather u change the pistons or not! the only way u know is by a tapping noise at about 3k rpm at idle, my m8 thought it was tappets but found out it was the worst case senario above!

you'll be beating WRX's like taking candy from a baby lol

cars,breasts,food n beer its all i think about :)

re

not really sure on price at all,

thats one thing i would like opinions on!

oh and i meant 230bhp and 265lbs of torque or whatever the measurement is!

re

smee,

what would you want if i broke it?

would be easier to swap cars probably! lol

re

rwd happy was half the appeal!

found out how tro make the brava 4wd without cutting any part of chassis, bolt on stuff, so might stick with that idea!

re

ah that would be telling,

donor car is about 500 squids abroad apparently, i think it was a model only made abroad?

Re: re

Well, if you REALLY think all those mods have reduced your value, (and only cause I like you) maybe I should over to swap my bog standard one? Complete with plastic fiat wheel trims:)

Re: re

Unfortunatly i am not interested in the car to buy, but would love to see some photos! it sounds great!

re

hmm, maybe i should say reduced value, erm, limited the resale market maybe.

think i'd need about 5/6k for decent 200sx s14 looking through autotrader,

but all the old lancia's are going for similiar which is what my engine is?

its very hard to try and think of price for mine, might bung it on ebay with a high reserve! lol, see if anyone with too much money wants it!

re

lol, hmm, think if i'm gonna sell its gotta go as it is!

i'll prob keep it, dont think i could let it go! i like it too much!

Re: re

I wouldnt sell her, she is a rare beast...do the 4wd conversion and run her to the ground!;)

You will never get the money the car deserves! and your next car will prbably not be as quick!!or as origonnal!

Paul R

P.S. where did you get your bonnet from and how much was it?

Re: re

I dont like the front bumper, all that mesh looks weird, theres to much of it, and the back bumper really needs that middle bit put back on, it looks broken lol !

I much prefer Smee's to this one !!

although i do like your bonnet mate :)

sorry just my opinion

Re: re

@Paul R- Its not original mate, look at Smee's !
Well thats in looks anyway.

Smee done his because he wanted an original looking car, but the amount of Brava's around now, i have lost count to be honest.

Mind you i cant talk, (before someone else says it) yes i no..i no.. i drive a yaris, and the amount of people that drive them now, does my nut in ! grrr !

re

thanks Kim, but you need to get your fact right,

mine is the original Brava that Smee wanted his to look like.

mine IS the car in the carzone catalogue that smee posted pics of saying he wanted it to look like.

i might be wrong but i think i had one of the first brava's with kit and wheels on. and i still dont know of many with full kit? Bravalution guy, mine and Smee's copy of mine.

i know back looks broken at mo cos it is! lol, but intention was to round them off so they werent.

Re: re

Kimmy...you dont bump into a fully kitted up brava with a 2.0 turbo engine everytime you pop down the shops!!It is a rare beast!!!

Even if smee does have one... that means there are 2!!

I have a modded bravo, and i have not seen another one done up like mine near me! as for a modded Brava!i really see standard ones!!

Its never gonna be the only one in existance but there definatly aint many around!

BUT if allan tells me where the bonnet came from there might be a little black bravo going around with the same bonnet!

Paul R

re

thanks paul

i'll just refer this back to mine being the first and smee buying exactly the same colout and doing it up just like mine not the other way round.

and agreee anout never seeing another modded brava in the flesh myself.

its an f50 vent but not the pointy nose bit, just the two scoops cut into the bonnet!
