What do you call low mileage - bear in mind ALL coupes are now 7-11 years old and performance cars do not benefit from sitting around perishing. Mine has done 84k miles and still runs really well, less than 10k miles a year (y)

84k is acceptable, but its getting hard to find a sub100k coupe, like you say they're all getting old these days (hence my near desperation to get one before i miss my chance).

a GTV only costs a few hundred more, so i wonder whats the drawback? why are they so cheap?

These ones perhaps? ...Just need to check the belts have been done (should have been on age, if not mileage)

As coupes are pretty rare, you'll need to travel to get a good one - most fccuk members have. Also, keep an eye on www.fccuk.org/forum or even post a wanted ad, people do sell :)

I don't think the 2.0 GTV is as good a car and they suffer similar issues to the Fiats. If you're going for a 3 litre, may as well have a turbo coupe. IMO the Fiat is also far far prettier but that's a personal taste thing

Oh and what's wrong with yellow... :slayer:

i think thats the real issue for me, i havent really considered travelling but if i expect to find the right one within 50miles of my house i know i'm asking for a lot. if i got a train 200 miles only to find the car wasnt good enough, i think i'd be very pist off.

here's an example of something close to me, the price is right but its on 99k, a 16v, and a turbo (if it was a 20vN/A i'd buy it now even with that milage). http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1996-FIAT-COU...41QQihZ018QQcategoryZ9843QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

the perfect car, but its yellow and 109k and pricey. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1999-FIAT-COU...87QQihZ014QQcategoryZ9843QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and then i get really upset when i find a completely perfect one, but it has a turbo (happens all the time, bloody turbos!) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-COUPE-20...26QQihZ011QQcategoryZ9843QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
i really want this one, its possibly even worth paying the £600 insurance cost coz he'll take less than 2k for the car.

if you dont know i wont tell you :D

Post on FCCUK - you might find someone who lives near any car you're interested in, who'll go and give them a preliminary check out for you. You've got the advantage of someone who's got a good idea what to look for then.
