I have had my new panda for just over a year it’s a 1.1 active I am thinking of changing to the new astra as its bigger and dare I say better. How much do you think I would get for my panda its 04 and has 11000 miles on clock.

The Astra isn't a bad car though is it, it's just Vauxhall that's all.

On top of that, isn't the new Stilo based on the same chassis? The cdti engines are Fiat designed MJTD.

well as a rough idea there is an advert in my local newspaper for a brand new fiat panda, same model as yours for £4995 at fiat dealer,-

it makes me laugh how on the oposite page there is a vauxhall ad showing a vauxhall corsa for £6995 with a slogan something like- you wont find a new car cheaper than this, i thought dipsticks! lol

To be fair to vauxhall the astra is kindof in a different class to the panda - it has a boot to start with (no offence panda owners)

I think it looks quite smart actually, not particularly cheap though but it is still new I guess. Is this true they use Fiat's diesels? Whatever you think of them, give it a year and they will be everywhere, along with the new focus.

HI all, thanks for all your replys will let you know how i go on.I am thinking 1.8 auto hatch in black. can u still come on forum if u dont have a fiat ? lol hope so

Yep. Opel uses two versions of the 1,9 (both multijet), a 8V version with 120bhp and a 16V version with 150bhp (Saab also uses these engines) and the 1,3 16V multijet (also used by Suzuki).

The 1,7L diesel is a Fiat engine.

No it 'aint. It is a direct decendent of the 54bhp 1.6D you could get in late 1980's Chavaliers! This motor is not to be confused with the reasonable 82bhp 1686cc 1.7TD (Astra, Chavalier, Vectra etc.) that was used in the mid 1990's as this is an Isuzu engine.

But as Santa says, GM group (Saab, Opel, Vauxhall, Suzuki) all use the 1.9 multijet in 8v and 16v versions (badged as 1.9CDTi and 1.9CDTi) and the 1.3 multijet.

In the same way the new Alfa 159/ Brera use 1.9 and 2.2 4 cylinder and 3.2 V6 Petrol engines that are 85% GM (Holden in Australia for the V6) with only the cylinder heads and ECU being Alfa.

You're absolutely right. (y) and i know it's not a fiat engine i just forgot to put the not in the last line (banging head on table).
