first post for a long time hear goes i have a mk1 punto sporting recently changed clutch as the ap clutch was smashed to peaces in the gear box don't ask :yuck: any way the car was towed to my dads where we fixed that with a new clutch and a donated gear box thanks Damon
also added a new stainless steel cat back exhaust system to it all was looking as tho it was good until i came to start it it struggled to start so i thought it was just the battery had bean off for a weak ecu may have reset no big problem then when it started it revved its heart out like a nutter was revving it to the limit then it would drop down then back up up and down it went for about 3 mini's then it died
i turned it over again and it would die so i put my foot on the throttle it started
i thought yep its all good how wrong was i i managed to back it out of the drive give it a test run filed up the washer bottle witch i think now has a hole in it started to drive went to change gear it started to kangaroo like herb and revving like mad i managed to calm it down by putting it in 5th drive bout a mile down the road at 60 all good no problems slowed down to turn around and it died like it ran out of fuel so i pulled in and rested it for a few mins the injector light was going on and off so was the empty fuel light when my dad came to tow me back he noticed lots of water on the passenger side under the wheel about a letire had leaked out the engine started again but revved like mad again up and down up and down i was towed back to his where its sitting waiting to be ether revived or condemned i have read up on the forum about coil packs going bandy and causing problems also the air sensor in the tb bean dirty causing idling problems if any 1 has gone thou the same thing and would like to help this would be very help full
