Hi I'm currently looking for a thermostat for my 1996 2l 16v non turbo if anyone could hello please

Model
2l 16v non turbo
Year
1996
Mileage
90000
Just checked, says out of stock for non turbo 2.0l 16v, and guess 1.8l is different as they have them in stock!
According to Coupe club, delta one fits with modifications, and whole unit is available from Fiat, at an eye watering £280
Yes they seem to be really expensive the one I've found do far in stock is £483

The above is probably OK but you need your VIN to be sure.

Use ePER on thsi website with your VIN.

You will then get the current, past and replacement part numbers and a list of vehicles that use the same part.

Hi the eper just gives a blank page when I search and the other item on eBay doesn't fit. I'm really struggling

I don't have your VIN but for a 1996 Coupe 2.0. 16V non turbo I find this:

https://eper.fiatforum.com/en/Drawings/Detail/F/F/COU/PC/104/2/0/1/SubSubGroup

Now P/N: 7772114 is listed in places at £20 to £70 BUT all currently seem to be out of stock. Other listings are in the £100s which is just these guys taking advantage of low availability.

You have another option till cheaper stock comes back in.

Fit an in-line or in hose thermostat. I'm assuming your current thermostat has failed like most do in the open position thus the engine is not getting up to temperature

If this is the case then the in-line, but preferably in-hose stat. is an easy fix.

If the thermostat is closed and causing over heating then you will have to remove the stat from the existing housing. You might be able to do this without removing the stat from the block.

I've spoken to an Italian car specialist and he they have confirmed that the thermostat has been difficult to get for many years now.

Looks like you will have to go in-line / in-hose route.

Apparently some Renaults have those in-hose stats. Others are available you just have to search for the correct size.
