As the temp. needle was hardly moving on our m.y. 2000 Palio Weekend 1,6-16V, I decided to change the thermostat and temp. sensor this morning, now everything is working fine again!
About 10 years and 180.000km's ago I changed the thermostat as well, used an original Fiat/Behr one, this time I used an inexpensive alternative: Gates.
After opening the box I discovered that it was in fact a Vernet Calorstat thermostat.
I also bought an inexpensive, aftermarket FACET temp. sensor, but there was "Made in Italy", stamped on the housing, so it seems to be an original one...
Also used 1 liter, pink Paraflu UP, one liter destilled water, and half a bottle Red Line Waterwetter.
The hardest part was to remove the hoses from the old themostat.....
