Help please!!!

Tried changing the thermostat tonight but have made an absolute balls up of it! Disconected the hose, undid the two retaining bolts, fitted the gasket to the new thermo and bolted on. Reattached hose, topped up water level a bit and undid the water cap. Started the car up to find a puddle under her :bang: have tried time and time again to find the same effect. I've even tried fitting the old 'stat but again, shes leaking!

Worrying thing is one of the retaining bolts doesnt seem to want to torque up properly - got a feeling I've properly ****ed it!

Anyone had this **** before?! Tis driving me nuts!

I changed the Thermostat on my 55 sx this monring and I'm having the same problem. It keeps leaking water. I did everyhting right as far as I can tell, clean all the crap off from the old one and then fitted the new one.

Anyone know anything that could seal it?

instant gasket, its an orangey colour, just let it go off properly before trying to fill it or that black silicon sealant fiat do, that stuff seals anything.

Instant gasket pretty good but you're in trouble if you've stripped one of the threads M60TYN. (Easy to do this on aluminium heads.) :(

Pressure in the system will tend to open the joint up and cause it to leak.

You might need a helicoil fitted to fix this.
