The seller is traveling to Stroud on Sunday night which looking at google maps isn't that far.

Not sure if I've mentioned but it's a complete 750L interior (seats and door cards). Not sure if that make it too bulky?

If you know someone able to help, or can yourself Gavin it'd be greatly appreciated. More than willing to cover any additional fuel costs if it's slightly out of the way also. I'll see if seller able to drop off in Cheltenham...

Hi Jon,

My mate lives in Cheltenham. If you could find a way to get it to him, I could "persuade" him to bring it across to me (either in one go, or a couple of trips) - he's only got a Corsa but as it's just a lump of metal to him (and who would argue?!!) I often impose and put stuff in it when I don't want to dirty/damage a Panda! Well I do give him some work as well as pushing a friendship......

At another time of year I might be able to go on from Cheltenham for you or impose on a friendship even further. Tbh though next week is a no-go for either of us doing anything other than last minute tax returns. Possibly different in a couple of weeks time, so that's a 3rd option if the seller will wait & it's not stupidly far from Cheltenham!

Anything any good? (y)

I'll try and get seller to drop off, I take it Sunday evening is ok for your friend?

Last bit, monies, not a fan of paying the seller direct incase it never arrives. Am I able to Paypal (as a private payment so no fees) or bank transfer the cash to you or your friend so that they can pay on delivery?

Hi Jon,

Yes that's fine - if it looks likely give me a shout, but it would be ok. Easy to sort out money too, so all fine if they can get them there.

Cheers Gavin, I owe you one (and your mate). I've emailed the seller, will await their response and PM you their contact number if it's a good to go as will be easier for them to liaise direct rather than me act as a middle man.

They're breaking what looks to be a complete 750L :( so might be worth seeing if you need any bits from them also? Just a idea :)

Ok no problem. As I say, depending on distance, there's a possibility I could collect for you but not for a couple of weeks due to Jan chaos!

Hi Jon,

The seats have arrived safely with me. There are the 2 fronts, rear cushion (or an approximation to a cushion, being more precise when talking about the hammock seat), 2 poles, the dash roll, and door cards (y)

They look ok at first glance, but one front seat has nasty stains on it - I hope they come out & that you saw this on the listing.

We'll need to sort out getting them to you - no problem about the money at the moment. Anyway, as I said, there are ways of making you pay (an artist's impression of my method is below)

Thanks Gavin, I wasn't aware of the stain, although am aware of a small tear in one of the front seats at the side. As long as the rear seat is good this is a bonus, and hopefully I'll be able to sort out the stain :)

Like you say now to try and get them to me :p If no-one is able to get them across I'm happy waiting until we meet at an event later this year, assuming this isn't imposing on the space they may be taking in your storage?

Heads up if anyone needs anything picked up / delivered I am making a dash up to Liverpool on saturday...and hopefully back down again

Just drop me a PM if so and I will see if I can help.

Rough route plan:

Tailgate from TN22 heading north....

Wonder if anyone can help: I bought a Mk1 tailgate on ebay from a seller in TN22 (West Sussex). Have listed for quotes on Shiply, but wondered if anyone here happened to be planning a south-north trip?

If you could somehow get it to Gavin (poor man...), and the Practical Classics thing goes ahead, I could collect it from him; and then -- providing there's no mad rush -- bring it up to you in March: when I pop up to see my parents (for my dad's 85th...).

VmanC - silver one didn't have dimples, and Freddy had expressed interest first (but I am happy whoever it goes to on Forum).

Ah, I only guessed Si because he posted about a trip to Liverpool.

Isn't that strange that the a Mk1 tailgate doesn't have dimples  You would think they all would given their age. Maybe it's a later pattern part, that would explain its condition too?

Si, David has the filler pipe trim ring for my Sisley, I could meet you just off the M6 somewhere around junction 15 or 16 if you don't mind a quick stop off on your way back down?

David I still would like the tailgate, in no rush for it though so I don't mind waiting until you have the red one in your possession before I have it.
