yes she stopped around the corner so i told her to pull in the car park behind the shops, swapped details i emailed her the vid too, i am sure the bus driver new what he had done. look at the speed he passes out of view compared to the cars after him.

edit i was the only bugger who did stop though, sad times we live in

edit edit, the horn is me too trying to alert the bus driver

Out of interest did it cause much damage to her car? It sure created a cloud of crap :(

can anyone make out the reg?

Post the raw video somewhere and I might be able to enhance/sharpen it enough. YouTube has compressed the **** out of that, so despite a bit of messing around, no.

It looks like either DN07VVK or GN07VVK, or something similar.

Bus driver is a bit of a cockend tbh. He starts the corner while looking in his OS mirror, then assumes he's made it round, floors it, and switches to his NS mirror / checking what's on his NS, and forgets his arse end is going to cut that rather tight corner. Looked like it was the tyre/wheel that caught the car rather than any bodywork, so in his defence, he probably didn't hear it.

But... she didn't exactly do herself any favours with her poor road positioning though, you see a large vehicle trying to get round a tight corner on a narrow road... yeah, the best thing to do is keep going, and stop on the apex of the corner, about a metre away from the kerb. (y)

Or, you could hold back and give it room...

Email the bus company tell her
I had a recent accident where i was unable to get bus details as he shot off

But the bus company found the CCTV off the bus when i told them where and what time the bus and route it was

That is also a case of calling the police as leaving the scene of an accident

That bus driver was WAY over his line, the little mazda can get the whole lot as she is 100% non fault here

DN07 VVK bounces back as been a Citroen Relay 130 HDI so thats a nope
GN07 VVK shows as been a JCB in yellow

I agree its a 07 plate

i'll see what combination i can pull of from it and put it through a free online plate checker

i was holding back, if he had waited until she had gone he would have been fine

Yup, you were. Thing is, she's in pretty much stationary traffic, so it'd have been better for her to read the road ahead (developing situation, anyone ?), and hold back, as you did. She wasn't getting anywhere quickly anyway.

+1 for cops. As for fault, technically, and in the eyes of the insurance, you're right - 100% his fault. He did screw that one up.

My point is that all too often road users don't read the road ahead and put themselves into situations that can/do result in a bump/accident - particularly with large vehicles. Cyclists are the bloody worst for it, going up the side of trucks turning left, etc.

As an example, I came down this road last week, and had to turn hard left at the end. I drive a 32 ton, 30-odd ft long tanker. If you notice how close the building on the left is to the corner, and how tight the roads are... so i had to swing out on the right a bit, and forward a bit, before turning left.

No sooner had I started the turn, this young girl comes zipping up the main road (in a Fiat 500, of course) from the left wanting to go up the road I'm coming out of. Guess what she did? Yes, she kept going and turned up the side of me, mounted the pavement and found she had nowhere to go as there was a building in her way (on my right). I had to slam on, otherwise my tail swing would have destroyed her.

Result... road blocked until she reverses back out onto the main road out of the way. Had I not noticed, or not stopped the turn... you know who's fault that one would have been... certainly not the poor young girl hit by the big nasty truck.

LOL, it'd have been epic if it was a bit yellow JCB :D The image is too compressed to get a decent result out of sharpening it. It might be that the camera compresses it anyway, then YouTube does it some more.

...and another thing. When I bought the camera in September the battery would last an hour now thirty five minutes if I'm lucky.

:bang:

I had the chance to drive along one of my favorite roads today in daylight and the bloody thing failed half way there. :(

Why are people so aggressive these days?

Why not just let the guy merge? Maybe he didn't know the area and found himself in the wrong lane. There was plenty of room for him to get across if you hadn't put your foot down. You were the one that created a dangerous situation with your aggression.

And maybe the cyclist was being a bit silly, but you were almost stationary so why let it wind you up? First reaction is to swear and sound the horn. Very typical of today's attitude on the road I'm afraid.

Aggression is because you see him shoot past everybody from the back - I dont want to que cut in
why should he cut in? we all que'd

I had already put my foot down as he was coming in, car takes a few seconds to show it

You definitely closed the door....Don't worry, we've all done it!

My philosophy now is let these people in and let them on their way. I'd rather bad drivers be in front of me than behind me! ;)

i'd rather have them behind me - so that they dont do a brake check on me or something....

Both pro's and cons for each way

They are far better off infront of you, where you can control the situation.

If they are behind then how close are they? Probably very.
If they are infront then how close are they? And close as you want them to be.
