Well another year and another service out of the way. Got the main dealer service done and everything went fine. Tyres etc will last for ages (winter tyres for bad weather use). Brakes lasting well. Oh the reason for the post.......main dealer service £89 :). Thankfully the father in law knows one of the technicians and they do us a deal. No reason for us not to use main dealer at that price

may I ask what was done in the service for that price?

Yeah no probs. tbh I checked but am not that bothered because it's such low mileage I only wanted it checked and to get the stamp. Anyhow

Oil change
Oil filter
Screen wash
Brake cleaner
Visual health check

I would have paid that for maintaining the warranty regardless

Well then that's not that cheap to be honest! It is reasonable though!

Hmm I suppose it depends on how you look at it. If I want to service it myself and save money then of course I can save money. I dare say even sending it to a back st garage could have saved me a few quid. Alternatively I look at it that I have the second service in the book alongside the same stamp for pdi and 1st service which looks good if I ever sell it. It also helps if there is something in the 3rd year warranty. For that I think it was worth it IMO to get it serviced there

bottle of oil would have cost £30-40 then filter £5-£10 from local motor factors

thats before you found you needed a 12mm alan key £5 and what ever other tools you dont have

and like you say a stamp in the book

cant complain for that price really

Quite right Andy.

Our 1.2 Panda Easy had its 36k service last week, and I have the official Fiat retail prices of the various bits and bobs listed on my invoice (although I paid a tad less as I negotiated a 15% discount on parts as the dealer wasn't prepared to let me bring my own parts from Shop4Parts but wanted to meet me halfway-ish).

These prices all include VAT by the way:

Oil change = £33.97 for the approx 3l of Selenia oil
Oil filter = £12.46
Screen wash = £2.00
Brake cleaner = not sure but assume a fiver?
Visual health check = part of the labour charge.

All the consumables come to around £50, so that leaves labour of around £40 inc VAT.

So yes, I think it is a very good deal. And having the dealer stamp will add some value when it comes to trading in/selling. Hard to put a finger on exactly how much of course, but it can't do any harm - unless the dealer in question is known for being rubbish!:D
