Interesting to read the history of these 2 cars, its so cool when your car comes with a history that you can trace. The stuff that came with my beetle is amazing, miles better than any full service history, i can see exactly what has been done to the car all the way back to 1979 (the car would have been 7 years old by then) but theres a reciept for every oil change, every MOT literally everything. I remember when i got it home i just sat down and looked through it, took me ages but i feel i know that car very well even though i've done very little to it, shame its just sitting the garage doing nothing really, theres a big gap in reciepts now too (n)
 
interesting re the service history and lack of paperwork when conversion done :)

I'm half tempted to whip out the pen and paper and write to a few previous owners maybe lol :) somewhere along the line there have been bits of history kept away from the original paperwork, a load of RR graphs i know were around a couple of owners ago no longer with the car, ditto a bit of paperwork re the turbo conversion and finally also it did have a mag with it (the max power it was featured in) which at some point got photocopied and only the photocopy included, im presuming this is because the person at the time wanted to keep hold of the mag, not a prob for me as i've got 1 copy for shows and another im trying to grab for the history folder :)

edit: blu - i know the feeling, mine has filled one of the jumbo A4 ringbinders now, no space for anymore, and i have about 10 more receipts to add, and counting!, also doesnt include receipts for stuff i've got off people etc... ouch!)
 
Ghost you should be able to get a brand new mag from Max Power as you know the issue it was in and everything. I would love to see the article, perhaps you can scan it in if you got a scanner one day so i can have a look.

lol she was completely neglected somewhere along the way though :( has taken alot of cash to get her how she is today, and watch this space for a new look for 2007 :D would love to get more info or pics of her as she was being changed from standard though :eek:)
 
I'm pretty useless at stopping myself from posting each new bit as it comes when i get excited :eek: but most of it will be revealed in all its glory in roughly a month or so :)

Smoors long gone, was going to try again but parents going off round the world sailing and me being homeless as a result, kinda put a stop to my spending spree i had planned on cinq with new salary etc lol instead im getting a flat in town :cool: but cinq having 1 last makeover :D
 
well been up today to have a look at the turbo, didnt have much of a look when i collected it and when we got back it was dark. fitted the windscreen bolted the wings and bonnet back on and gave it a good clean out and a vac my poor henry vac was on overload with all the glass! its a good project and is very different from my standard sporting i started to reconnect all the wires under the bonnet anyone got a wiring diagram for a turbo cinq
