Test for Aircon?

Just bought a Stilo JTD, but when I turn on the aircon button, the cool air doesn't seem to be any cooler than the heater on normal cold blower.

In the absense of a workshop manual written in anything other than Italian, can anyone tell me how I can test that the aircon is actually working, before I go for the 'regas' option...

ok, pretty sure Air con functionality is working.. Checked fuse 19, and relay T05, as previously suggested. Also when I press the button, I hear a click and tick over speeds up very slightly, I guess to compensate for the clutch coming in. Tickover returns to normal when aircon switch is turned off. So I think it must be a re-gas for me, unless there are any other checks or suggestions I can do.

Where are you based? I have a guy local to me who did a full pressure check and re-gas for £35
