tesco- cost of lowering?

I know a few people that are insured through Tesco but none of them have a modified car - i have a feeling that they dont insure modified cars or if they did the price would be through the roof as its only cheap if you go with one of their basic policies! :(

if u want to modify your car admiral give good qoutes, and also if you was to have a crash even just as a named driver your insurance is not invalid is it?? btw admiral would only replace your car with a standard car if you was to write it off and not your modified one.

Yes it is valid other wise whats the point in adding named drivers?!. They would have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that you drove the car more than the 'Main Driver / Policy Holder' for them to invalidate insurance.

I`m with tesco and twice they blame me for two men who hit my car and knock of my wing mirror and if u car you lose your no claim bouns TESCO to me sucks they rubbish they stick up for muppets who hit my car and then blame me....

Hi Satin, i dont quite get what you mean, but if you claim and noone else is paying (another insurer) then yes you will loose your no claims. Thats why claiming for small things isnt worth it.

Yup def, some people just think that because your insuring it through a parent then you are driving it 24/7. While this isnt always the case, after all who's gona insure there son or daughter to learn to drive on a 2l turbo, or use an impreza to do the school run, many people do use the Punto etc as a second 'small' car, my mum did and it was totally standard.

I would imagine the insurers would ask why your mum wants to put sports suspension on her car, or 17" alloys etc etc, thats when they really get suspect about who's car it is!

Funny you should say that there is a driving school near me with a M-reg Subaru Imprezza Sedan. And yes if your modifying you need your own insurance as they will just catch you out when you try to declare mods. Who would add their 17yr old son / daughter to a 2L Turbo policy anyway?

Personally I've been a named driver for 3years either on a Company Policy and or My Own in my Dad's Name I have just gone in my own name with 0ncb on my Alfa and being a named driver saved me a Fortune in my younger years probably about £2000. I didn't modify or very subtly modified my cars usually just alloys didn't even lower them as it only f**ks the handling anyway. Now I have bit of age on my side my policy's are quite reasonable.

as apple says, you need someone in EXACTLY the same position.

in my experiance you get a better deal if you declare all mods when you are going for a new quote.

if you are renewing or adding mods at a later date then they can make you pay whatever they like
