Tempra Start Issue

I have a 1994 2.0L Tempra wagon. It has developed an irregular start problem. Something it just refuses to start but on the next attempt, which may be 1 min to 1 day later it may start perfectly and run as normal. I had it in for service for 3 days and of course it showed no errors and started faultlessly everytime. Two days later it wouldn't start but 30 mins later it started instantly . I'm suspecting a sensor, or ignition fault. Any ideas?
