Advice please....
Early next year, me and a few friends are heading for the ring. I had planned to take the Cinq, there will be a 3 series BMW, on old Ford and a couple of bikes. My question is, has anyone taken their Cinq to the ring and what preperation should i do prior to going. I will put on a different spring kit but what else? Any ideas??

Brakes and dampers for sure, standard bits will feel the strain with enthusiastic driving over a period of time.

Badger took his there about a year ago, but i've not heard from him for ages. His plan was to leave it there, then fly out to use it every so often. But his car was more 'race prepaired' than most.

I think the minimum should be vented disks and race pads, not great for the drive there and back tho... plus uprated dampers and even strut brace, really depends on intent and capability.

At the moment, it is standard, but as things break, they will be uprated. The driver is keen, but don`t fancy trashing it as it is the wifes car....

Had the Sei there, although only for one lap as my main purpose of visiting were the Modena Trackdays a year ago. The car was totally standard and I wasn't pushing to the limit (had a friend and myself to bring back home ;)), but it faired ok, no problems at all.

On a sidenote - even in a standard Sei 899 it was tremendous fun. I was all worked up, hot and red on the face for the next three hours after that :D EVERY car nut should make this pilgrimage at leat once.

If you plan on spending some time on the Ring I'd advise to take care of the suspension, brakes and tyres/wheels first. A good seat will also be a plus (standard piece doesn't do the best job of keeping you in place).
Check that your cooling system is in a good shape too.

PS when exactly do you plan on going - you said early next year... not sure if winter is the best of times to visit the Ring. I was in July and the weather was pretty unpredictable - from rain and wind, where I was cold in a tshirt, hoodie and jacket to clear blue sky and warm in the sun. In winter I'd guess it can only be worse :(
