I know your probably already thinking im a nutter, but im trying to get my head around dump valves.
Ive spied a few in my price range
- Bailey DV24
- Bailey Dv26 twin piston
- Bonalume 'pop off'
The 2 bailey units are well priced but is there a differece apart from the pistons?
Do you have to buy a set spring tension so it will operate correctly? Last thing I wanna do is fit it and it not work as I dont boost high enough

The Bonalume unit is cheaper but it boasts being able to replace the stock recirc valve completely as it has all the electronic bits included. It's also quieter and subtler.

Any views on these 3 products?
Also I know BOVs are boy racery, but Im not a fan of the noise the stock recirc makes into the forge intake, sounds like a snoring snake :p

Don't really have any advice on these, I have the bonalume 'power pop' valve which works on the standard re-circ, I want to get a proper one but heard of peoples t-jets bringing the engine managment light up and putting it in limp mode, but also people haven't had any problems.

But personally I love the sound of a hks ssqv :)

I got a baileys never had a problem sound nice to I payed 30 pound off a mate nd 12 pound for the fitting kit so I got a gd deal really

Bonalume seem to have a few types of valve the one which has the electronic bits is the one to go for imo. when a standard type dump valve gets used the solenoid valve gets no air so thinks there is a problem, then will set the eml light on but the car may reset it self in standard form. The standard solenoid valve is very sensitive/poor and if blocked of to make the chatter sound never block after the valve high boost car will basically brake the valve and when put back to normal the valve will leek air which means boost leek. The bonalume elec valve is alot better and will help performace of car imo, not leek air, open and close alot faster better timing. Forge motorsport also make an elecronic valve for the abarth 500 so that may work as very similar engine. Advice based on my own mistakes haha :D

the Bonalume power pop does take my fancy, as it incorporates the electrics its bound to be more responsive, JackFi where did you order your pop from? They don't seem to sell them on the Bonalume website?

I brought it Italo Tuning, I wouldn't bother buying it to be honest, its not a proper dump valve as it doesn't make it more responsive just gives the sound.

Ahh I see, would I be better going for a DV24 or something similar? Do boost pressures make a difference with choosing a valve?

Yeah as they are about the same price, they can do when your buying a forge one as they have tuning kits for them so they dont leak with to much pressure. But the baileys one is just plug and play
