Swinton !

My dad has been insured with 'Swinton Insurance' for a few years, and had brake down cover with them also.
When i needed insurance, we went to Swinton to get a quote after being quoted £3,000 i found another insurer and would insure me and my dad as named drivers for £980.

Went to Swinton to Cancel my dads poilcy and they charged him £25 to do so at the same time canceled the brake down cover witch was up for renewal in July.
Then in July got a payment for brake down cover come out of my account(i pay dads insurance) so went to Swinton and they claimed we had asked for it to be renewed! not only that but the price had gone from £5 amonth to £9.50 a month!
We made them cancel it and refund the 1st months and then i went to the bank to stop all payments by them, today i got a letter saying that my brake down cover had gone up to £11 a month!
So phoned them and told them to cancel it, he's told me he has now.. but only will i know next month when i get a mispayment letter i guess.

Swinton Sucks Avoid them!
During the years dad was with them they also charged £50 for changing Car!!

Now with Aviva, for past 2months already changed car once and got £20 refund! :slayer:

TBH just sounds like you've not read the small print and not cancled DD's when canceling policy.

Also majority of other companies charge cancelation fee's and admin fee's when changing cars etc

You most likely got the refund because it was a less risk of car.

Most places have a fee to cancel, I paid more when I changed car as it was newer with a bigger engine.
