Any advice around rotating front/back tyres. Fronts are at 7mm but rears are 8. What's the dangers if any?

Danger is you'll keep going in the right direction until you change the front tyres. That's when you should have the part-worn rears moved to the front and NEW tyres fitted to the rear.

So you reckon I should keep the new ones on the back?
ive seen posts for both schools of though of having the best grip front or rear.
best on the front as its the driven/steered wheels.
best on the rear as you have less control if the rear breks grip

Idea is understeer in a FWD car is easier to control than oversteer, and gives more warning that it's going to happen.

I am of the school of thought that says always put NEW tyres onto the rears, and the part-worns to the front.
That's what the manufacturers say so I'd go with that too.
A little more work come wheel change time but use it as an excuse to give the alloys a full clean and service.

Take a look at my pics (or Gaydon if you are there) and find me a spot to clean. It doesn't exist. Every six weeks the wheels are off for a wonder wheels treatment. Three years old and not a dirty mark on them. Sad but true.
