Technical Swapping a steering wheel for a basic....

I'm looking to get a BT head unit and for OCD sake swap out the steering wheel for a basic no button one.

This isn't likely to throw up any warning lights due to something no being plugged in is it!?

Or a radiospecific CAN decoder to keep the buttons on the wheel working?

And ensure the original bluetooth unit is removed from under the driver's (RHD) seat (this may just be Blue & Me specific) or you will have a permanent drain on the battery which will be flat inside 7 days if the car is not used - that's my experience anyway. Just unplugging from the head unit does not stop the battery drain; n.b. failed Blue & Me unit is normally indicated by flashing odometer.

I've a basic wheel here less the centre part. It's in good condition and just for the cost of post if you want it.
