Some interesting information which I found on my internet surfing adventures. I was not even aware that Suzuki the Japanese car manufacturer was currently using FIAT engines in their car production.

In a statement releases by FIAT they state that a contract to supply the Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki with the 1.6 Multijet diesel engines has been made. The new engine being supplied is to replace the current FIAT supplied 2.0 diesel engine and it will be released in Suzuki`s future SX4 model.

Quite a few come to Fiat for diesel engines... :D

because it would cost too much to develop their own, Fiat invested heavily a few years back (while everyone else was too busy getting more power or designing interiors with the most useless oddment compartments) and now with other makers unable to meet tight emission laws they need to use other engines...I hope Fiat screwed the a*se out of them for the pleasure!

Don't forget the former GM connection between Fiat and Suzuki. The two were stablemates in a manner of speaking. The Fiat 1.3 diesel has been available in the Swift and the Splash (and it's Opel/Vauxhall variant) for some time. Also the Fiat Sedici/Suzuki SX4, which is made in Hungary, also shared the same Fiat 1.9 diesel engine.

Don't forget that Fiat just conquered Pikes Peak again, breaking the 10 minute barrier in the process....
