What does everyone reckon about these?

Here it is on a 1.0l Uno

Reckon it might work? Or a bit of a con?

Got con written all over it like any stupid things like these! More air is good but a pipe to provide it will do nothing to add to this.

Anything that calls itself a similar name to what the actual product is, is often going to be a joke. Turbo/surbo HAHA!

Maybe I am wrong but sounds like BS to me. There graph shows you geting to over 40mph in first gear "instead of just over 20", that's BS!

1) I am stating what they are using as their figures on their website for the car they tested it on, if you look at the graph it goes from 22mph (approx) to approx 42mph (approx) which isn't going to happen.

2) I would never take my uno up to 35 in first because I try to look after my car, such high revs in a low gear like that neither helps your acceleration or your engine as it can't take the stress very well. If we were side by side, you would be in 35 in first and i would be happily away in second pulling up to 45 in the same time, you reach your maximum power much earlier and the drop off means you need to change gear/put up with a lack in acceleration.

In the same way, second on the Uno shouldn't be used much past 45...it's just where you get the peak power before the gain is outweighed by the downsides (wear and tear & lack of the power you want)

Of course if you want to do that in your uno it's fine, I just don't advise it.

Looking at the graph what i dont understand is, how can it increase your speed so much in every gear bar 6th gear. and the speeds before are not really pushing the car are they, 3rd gear 40mph in a 106, i dont think so! my cinq hits the red line at 60 in 3rd so a 106 is going to be quicker again.
and looking else where on the site, 0-62 for a
Citroen Xantia VSX 16V 2.0

before 9seconds
after 6.57 seconds

bit of a difference.

Richard; I am saying maximum i.e. never under normal driving! I would have said 40mph (which is my maximum really) but then somebody would have come and said "you don't know what revs to use blah blah blah" so thought I would ugh on the very generous side!

1st to 35 isn't good for you; that's my point.

lol at that decrease in 0-60 time, bet all those people who upgrade to actual turbos are annoyed they didn't just buy a £2 piece of pipe now!
