just not strong enough end of, id say it would have to be 4-5 mm to put up with a tow eye and the exhaust hanger off it
dont forget it has a pressed shape into it which helps it

I gave uptrying to find them managed to get car thru MOT without them being replaced but they are nearly non existant waiting for exhaust mount to break then I will have to do something.
has anybody actually managed to source them?

gutted! the cinq we scrapped the other week had them mounts on it still and they looked new! pretty sure one had a original fiat sticker on it and they where both black powder coated with just a little rust. (car had only done about 30k iirc)

Measuring my new drivers side bracket (doesnt quite match the one in the pictures as the tabs on both point outwards so is the mirror of the one with the tow eye)
Its 3mm steel. There are are a few small differences but the position of the 4 mounting holes DO match the one I have.................
The handbook possibly specifies 5mm instead of 3mm as they then appear to have a bar welded in-between them with the hook attached to that.
Nah, they're the same thickness (although the pressing for the tow eye one looks to be much more complex). The bar which becomes the eye is surface welded on.
A better engineering solution (for once!) in the Sei is to have the eye fitment in the chassis rail (which gives a straighter pull).
