Super Lada !

Just found this on the top gear site, remember watching it a couple of years ago. They basically treat one lada to a few hundred thousand pounds of Lotus tinkering you gotta watch this if you haven't already

The Lada was sold on eBay about 9 months ago for only £7000 or something, who ever bought it got a bargin, a true one off, I remember watching the programme when they built it and Lotus said that if you had to pay them to do what they did it would be nearly £100,000!!!!!!

But they still employed the talents of engine guru Guy Croft who is on of the worlds best tuners for the Fiat & Lancia engines designed by Lampredi.

Well it may have looked better and it definitely went better, but it was still and ugly box that lost me valuable posting time.

So did I, thought it looked amazing, and when it comes to setting up a chasis Lotus are gods, everyone from Vauxhall to Porsche employ them as consultants for chassis work, so you know it would out handle most other cars of that size, weight power etc

Just wish I had enough money at the time it was on eBay, as the guy whos car was used on Top Gear, lost his job & needed the money, so let it go, I was so tempted to make that call to the bank.

You can't call it an ugly box, when it was built from the sold off casts and machines from Fiat after they stopped making the 131, thats why they dropped a Fiat Twin-Cam in it, straight swap

It really a Fiat at heart, so deserves a place in our esteemed Forum, LOL
