Hi, I have a 2001 Brava SX80, I wanted to install a sunroof, what are the modifications that I would have to make after buying the sunroof chasai and motor?? will I have to change the interior of the roof too??
I thought electric sunroof was standard on a 2001 80sx?!
Interior you going to need a headlining with a sunroof hole (or modify your current one) and a roof light with the extra switch on to control the motor.
the roof linings will be different I would imagine.
The original one for a sunroof model is deeper than a non sunroof model because the sunroof needs to slide back into the space between the lining and the roof.
You would also have to hack a hole in your roof and then align everything perfectly for the sunroof to work correctly. I would also think that the roof in yours would not have the correct mounting points for the sunroof which would complicate things further.
Mucho agro and as said in one of the above posts DON'T DO IT
Last year I had the sunroof open about 5 times. If the day is hot enough to warrant the sunroof open it is also too sunny to open it as the sun then blinds you and scorches your head lol
air con is a much better option. i've had my sunroof open, um, 0 times last year and its all a bit stiff now so not surprisingly, 0 times is the number of times its been open this year too. haha. oh dear. i probably should fix it, but then i argue why if i wont actually open it anyway :S

Well, I bought the sunroof today, and will install it on Friday. but a bit confused about the wiring. does anyone have a photo or a diagram of what the original wiring should be?? (Something from a haynes guide if such a thing exist in it)

I would very much appreciate it if anyone could send a photo of the outer metal frame of the sunroof while it is open, so that the handyman can see how it is bended.
