General Sunroof handle and rubber strap detail for a 500 D

I am about to start finishing off the sunroof and would appreciate any images of the rear rubber strap including the mounting details of any fixing details / handles.

I have to admit I took mine off
The strap served little function that I could see, and the sunroof held back nicely without it.

I guess if you decided to reverse at high speed it might flip forward

Can you explain how the strap was retained when the roof was closed? What stops it just hanging down loose.... i am missing something I think

Well I didn’t keep mine but found this old picture.

Ignore the black aerial which was also removed.
The strap is shown hooked into one of the holes in the crossbar

Not sure if this is the official way to do it

It was people hanging off it I was worried about!
