Sub -talk

You pay for what you get there, for £40 I certainly would not expect a great sound, and at its lowest of 40 Hz thats not really sub sound. Sub is below the humans ears responce ie 20Hz.
It'll surley though thump away quite happily for its money.

sub

check for the range, my concern here with the one on ebay states its range is 40~300Hz, which is really high for bass !
A common drum is around 100Hz.

Also It will depend on your music tastes, ie if you like your folk and classical type sounds (lol) then this 'may' do fine, but you;ll certainly not win any spl comp's with it.
You'd be best to find one that covers 20~120Hz avg, but its also the amp too that bears seriour consideration, ie the signal to noise ratio (S/N),
which I didn't see stated. Anything above 80db is good.
So, go for it if you just want to improve your stereo's beat, but don't expect to make much of a rumble with your new MOS Bassline cd.
:)
