just wondering has anyone made a sub box that doesnt use much of the boot space at all? say using the space abouve one of the arches? I thinks that a ported one would be best.

Here's one I made:
The idea being that I could still get the spare wheel out if needed. Bit of a nightmare to get a good fit around the wheel arch bits though

yeah that does look good I'm looking to have my car iced this year so if you have the dimention of your set up it would be handy as i have been thinking how to sort the boot out to get the spare wheel out
also can you still get to your rear lights with that set up or is it like udoing the staberlizing nut on a 5 gt turbo??

Unfortunately I didn't actually make any measurements. There are so many curves to contend with in the boot, I just made a series of templates from corrigated cardboard, geting each one to fit better and better til I was ready to go to MDF!!! Seems a better option than trusting measurements!
The sub enclosure is obviously a sealed box, a nightmare to get the exact shape, but the right-hand-side just has one trianguler peice behind it holding it at the right angle, plus with the changer screwed to it. There's only two screws, holding the amp-peice to each of the sides, that holds the whole thing pretty rigid, so if I need to get to the lights I've only go two to undo and the whole thing is in three mobile peices!
