second follow up Q

do the x19 models all look the same when the bumpers are removed or exchanged.

I like the look of this front end but don't know what is required to achieve it.

is it a case of exchanging the bumpers and indicators?

That's a "P1X" front end, done by Nick Troth http://www.p1x-2000.co.uk. Looks like you got the photo off his web site too! The 1300 cars had that look with the small quarter bumpers. The 1500 cars can be given the 1300 look but you need to do some fabrication of brackets, smooth the bodywork and get the correct turn indicators. The original quarter bumpers are very rare these days, but if you like the black bumpers you can get GRP replicas cheaply enough and paint them. Here is a guide to the conversion:

In answer to your earlier post here's a buyers' guide:

There were 3 designs of bumper in europe

the 1300 with quarter bumpers and overriders

the 1500 with extruded alloy "girders"

there was also a limited run of single piece plastic bumper (copied for the eurosport type 1 design) for the 1500

The 1300 had a full chin spoiler as part of the bodywork, all the later cars had the spin spoiler as part of the bumper assembly so if you want to convert a 1500 to the 1300 design you will need to find the extra panel from somewhere.

To make things more complicated there were a number of different designs for the federal spec cars but I don't think they will be of any interest to you.

I'm very new to this so my appologies for asking what may seem like silly questions

but where could I source the chin spoiler from and the bumpers?

the car I'm going to look at has what looks to be a large black bumper with the spoiler moulded as one into it.

thanks again for your replies
