Stupid stereo/Central locking!!!!! Wiring fault?

My radio, phone and central locking have just stopped working, simple as that! Please read the stroy and help if you've experienced the same.

I was driving through town late at night and decided to lock my doors as a precaution. When I locked the doors the radio went dead. I had no radio,phone or central locking. I checked all the fuses I could find, fiddled with all the wires etc. but nothing worked. Then a mate had the car for the day and while they were driving along the stereo came back on! Later that week the stereo (and central locking & phone) went again only to return while I was driving down the motorway. I figured it was a loose connection or soemthing. Later that week I poarked the car up and, yes you guessed, the radio/locking/phone stopped working again!!!! very irritating. It returned again the same day and the problme didn't re-occur for a month or so. This monday gone I go to my car and the central locking/radio/phone are not working again!!!!! I'm very pissed off about it!

I'll be looking into again, or alternatively lending it to my mate so that it can magically fix itself! Does anybody have any suggestions about the cause???

Look for commonality

If all these items are on the same fuse, and I suspect they are, then I would suggest that this is where you start looking. Positively identify the fuse that feeds these circuits and replace it as they are cheap items. Dont waste time looking at it as its an intermittent fault so you wont see anything. If that doesn't solve it then start looking at the fuse contacts ie where the wires attach to the fuse box. 75% of all vehicle electrical faults are due to problems with joints/connectors.

Trouble is, you will never know if you have truly fixed it as sometimes it works anyway!
