My car keeps overheating because I have a leak in the radiator, but i turned it on this morning and looked under the bonnet and the fan isnt spinning, is this normal at idleing speed or should it always be on.

Thanks for any help

paul

The fan should switch on when the temp gauge goes above half way and turn off when it goes to half. It aint turned on all the time

For the radiator leak, try some radweld or other brand, ie. stop-leak etc. Makes a permanent repair

Radweld should only be viewed as a temporary fix. On most occasions, the leaks will re-occur. Rad's are relatively cheap to replace, especially if you buy the part direct from a supplier, like Serck Marston.

Any radiator leak liquid will plug the radiator if it has a small hole and if its on the metal part - if its on the plastic or on the joined parts it wont hold
