ok lads so i am in the middle of tackling the fan/ alternator belt. got the wheel off no problem , i take the innner wheel arch protector off no problem. rite now i can see. in front of me i have the wish bones suspension etc eond that i can see water pump wheel the alternator wheel. and a big wheel with teeth on it not sure of the name. the distanse between the wheel with the teeth on and a sensor it to shallow to allow the belt to go on thus i have removed the top bolt good 15 mins as it was rusted. he second isnt a bot but more of a screw and for the life of me i can not get this to budge, any 1 know of a way of getting it to budge its a possy driver head and no bolt it screw in to the backet which holds the sensor . the screw driver just pops out (lucky i havent runded the head) mole grips and pliers are just spinning on the bolt head as its round. so what am acctually askign here is does any 1 know of a way to loosen this stubbon bolt/screw. i have had wd40 on it and going to leave for an hours or so but i have no use of any oxy tourches etc nor would i want to with it bene in close proxsimity to the sencor any ideas lads cheers from a half bold scaffolder pulling his hair out :bang:

It is difficult to help you without more information.

Firstly, re-post this in the section for your car. Then we have an idea which model we are talking about.
Add detail about what engine is fitted, e.g. 1.2 8v, 16v, diesel, etc.
Add a pic so we can see what you are looking at.

With most cars, you just remove the sensor, one small bolt, then the belt will go onto the pulley.

cheers portland bill. how do i post in my car section? the car is a fiat seciento s 900cc i think. on the crank sensor there was 2 bolts the top 1 was a 6mm i think nut on a bolt with an alankey head rather than a propper bolt if that make sense the bottom bolt holding the sensor on was a +/philips head on a bolt rather than a screw which just screwed in to the bracked that held the crank sensor and not in to a bolt this bottom screw was the 1 i was having trouble with but with a bit of wd40. and a hold punch (as it was round) managed to break it a bit for the mole grips to then turn it ) got the job done and i am pleased to a its the very first diy project i have undertaken were i have no screew bolts clips left over unless i had lost them . cheers again lads .

Glad you've sorted it. Might be a good idea to put some nice shiny new bolts onto the sensor sometime.

You've obviously found the front page of this forum, and scrolled down to the "General" section and the "Let's Talk Fiat" sub-section. Go down past the "General" section, keep going, (have a browse at all the other sections), the you will eventually come to "Fiat Cars". Within this is the "Cinquecento/Seicento" forum section. (Alphabetically, comes in "C", so may have been hiding the fist time you looked.) That is the section to ask anything specific for your vehicle.

We're mostly a very friendly, helpful lot on here, but, due to volume of posts, many people only browse the section relating to their car, so elsewhere you may wait longer for a response, and in its own place, your query will likely get more people having some direct experience of your model.

Keep enjoying the Fiat.
