Ive got a Modified bravo 1.6 16v it is pushing 119HP rather than the 103HP, and cause its a little quicker u tend to push it more, espeacially round bends as u have the power to play with, ive noticed that there is small amount of body flex when you take hard corners, has any1 fitted Strutbraces on their Bravo's and does it make a difference??? Your view please.

Hi mr annon what have you done to get 119bhp out of your 1.6?

sorry to bit in on ur thread

they are gareat but be warned if you knock a wing then you will pay the price because the impact will be transfered to the other side and you will have to fix both

different exhaust manifold, larger downpipe, exhaust taken from another fiat, and modified to fit the bravo with the same diameter as the downpipe, fse powerboost valve running at 2.4psi rather than the 2.0psi (standard) this is with vacuum pipe conntected. CDA filter. Thats all really and also small things like running it on optimax and fully synthetic racing oil. Had it on the rolling road at power engineering in uxbridge got print outs, not sure of the standard torque figures but this one is at 116ft/lb. I want to get it chipped by angel tuning but before that i want to get a set of high lift cam and get it chipped for that. I want to try and get as much as i can out of a 1.6 16v with it being naturally aspirated. Lets see what happens.

where abouts is that place in uxbridge, i live in uxbridge.

lol u got a bit of catching up to do im already running 125bhp and 137 lbft

dont go for angel tuning as they can only do a standard map and not one specific for your cams! you will be a lot lot better off with a dastek or a perfect power smt6 piggiback ecu as you can have it reprogrammed every time you change something and you can also make an economy map for long drives!

You'll be wanting longer duration cams rather than higher lift.

A piggyback ECU is really the only way to go, the normal 'chips' you get are not very good.

Where would u get the piggy back ecu chip from for the 1.6 16v MK1??

supersprint manifold, custom exhaust system bigger valves engine rebuild chip k&n panel filter matched inlets and outlets on the head and manifolds, lowered, brembo big brake conversion rear disc conversion smoothed boot full alfa 147 leather interior the list goes on and on lol :)

i have given up spending money on the engine its being replaced this summer if i can find another runabout as i took the engine out of my other bravo and gave it to jay as his blew up

where did u get the calipers from and what discs are u using with them, has ur 1.6 got ABS? Do u find urs a bit more lively than a 1.8, because my sisters 1.8 hlx doesnt seem as torquey as the 1.6.

i got the same peek torq as a 147hgt lol i can kill 1.8's lol

i have both a 1.8 and 1.6 and i would say the 1.6 is loads more rapid off the mark the 1.8 seems to be better from 75-80mph up tho but by the time the 1.8 gets to 75-80mph im gone in the 1.6.

at the end of the day the 1.6 is a toy compaired to the coupe turbo after driving pauls coupe all day i got in the 1.6 and it felt the same as the coupe b4 the turbo hits lol i have raced paul r and i do really well then his turbo spins up and he shoots off like im not moving!!!
