Stop Screen Smeering

Im a person who hates mucky screens, i just hate to see them

If i wash the screens with Special screen spray or Washing up liquid (but NOT on the bodywork btw) it always dries seemery

I've tried using a wiper and wiping a duster thing, but it still keep getting smeer marks, what can i use?

Wash the screen with warm soapy water, rinse with clean water, then get a chamois leather and dry it. When did you last have new wipers? if its more than a year ago get new wipers. Don't use washing up liquid, use car shampoo.

The inside of the windscreen can get greasy, I use windowlene, works a treat

Could be over a year - only had it 4/5 months ish

I can get replacements blades (just the rubber bit) for like £2.50
So i'll get them they simply click into place
Had todo that for my rear wiper

And the car shampoo i have is wax as well.... which DOES streak

Once you've washed them use Rain X spray and wipe formulation, it really helps to stop smearing.

As fiatdrivingfan said, check the wiper blades too, worn rubbers will smear no matter how clean your windscreen is.

have always said i'll rain X the windows
As i hate side windows/mirrors where u cant see jack poo outta them

Rain X around wiper areas as well = Clear viewing all the way

But the only thing is that if you put it on your windscreen and it rains it leaves tiny water droplets on your windscreen when you have your wipers on, but they do go away after a while.

best thing i have found is Autoglym Glass polish

rub it in well with a dry cloth then once it has dried buff it up with a clean microfiber cloth

I use windowlene, works a treat

problem with most domestic glass cleaners is they contain sillicones and waxes and various other chemicals and colourants to enhance the shine which leads to smearing or to make them look more attractive on the shelf in the shop........

Done that myself and it has smeered alot more...

If a liquid window cleaning product is smearing, try dispensing a small amount into another container and adding more water.
Quite often the chem is more concentrated than is necessary and especially in warm weather will have very little working time (not enough time for correct use) and so will result in smeary windows.

Also ensure you have a perfectly clean cloth, some valeters, still use newspaper to dry their windows; it sounds barmy I know but results in a smear free finish, even when using water alone.

If all else fails I have to agree, Auto Glym window polish is great stuff and we wouldn't be without it!

Tip I picked up which has made quite a difference.

Wipe down your windscreen with cold water (nothing else).

Then dry off, and polish with newspaper. the ink apparently acts as a polish.

I tried this on my GP, and it works wipers were barely smearing as apposed to smearing loads prior to doing so.

Yeah i heard newspaper is meant to help?
It adsorbs as well so u get less streaking

Might get some screen polish and save some news papers
