Technical Stilo Selespeed issues???? Help !!!

Hi there,

We have recently purchased a 53 plate Stilo Abarth 2.4 , and it seems to have an issue within the first week.
The gearbox seems to have lost the ability to shift up (1st to 2nd to 3rd etc) in Auto mode (you have to push the gearstick forwards to change gear....but this then isn't really Automatic?), but it is able to shift down automatically on its own???
When Manual mode is selected, the gearbox operates fine, both with the gearstick and the paddles........so hopefully this is an easy/simple/inexpensive fix/reset right???

Any advice would be greatly received.

Flappy I suggest you use the 'search this forum' facility as the problems you're having with your Selespeed 'box have come up before...

It sound to me that it could be a faulty rear brake light switch.

Search the forum for topics relating to the brakte light switch and also check out the guide that provides instructions on diagnosting and replacing a faulty switch.

BTW the switch costs around £10-15 but is a fiddely little job, especially if you have got big hands.
