i have come to the conclusionthat stilos dont like the cold after fitting 2 batterys to are 2 stilo,s in one week and moore warning lights than i care to mention i go out to my 1.6 to start it turn on the car and the temp shoots up to high and drops back down and keeps saying high temp this now happens ever time i stat it any body got any idears:confused:
 
Ehhh, i wouldn't start it if its doing that, looks like a thermostat issue?

I've just put a new battery in a punto today because i think it has voltage issues due to it throwing all sorts of non existant faults and so far none have come back ;)

the thing is that due to the chemistry used, cold snaps really dont help the battery at all with delivering sufficient voltage at high current

Mine started doing that in April. Some sudden peaks of the gauge. The problem got worse (I was on High Coolant Temp all the time by September). I ended up with a faulty ECU...

It's a software fault, as explained in your previous thread in August about the same problem.
