Since taking delivery of my Stilo in april and doing nearly 18000 miles in that time my car has experienced some of the typical Fiat traits, as the subject sudgests knocks, squeaks and creaks. Firstly the knocking being the tie bars on the front suspension which where worn and replaced at the first service. Thats been the only major thing, the other thing being problems with poor trim fitting which i've sorted out myself rather than have the bother of taking it in to my local dealer for the day. for instance the ceiling console was not fitted properly as one of the clips was badly bent and did not hold the thing tight to the ceiling, this made it rattle when driving on poor road surfaces. another instance was, i discovered by accident while washing the car that the front offside wing made a creaking sound near the join with the A pillar when you pressed on it or leant on it as i did. this creaking could be heard inside the car while cornering, moving off etc. A quick squirt of spray grease behind the area (which can be reached when the door opened) sorted that one. I also had something rolling around inside the tailgate which turned out to be one of the clips that holds the trim panel on was in there.
My sky window wanted a good dose of greasing to stop it sqeaking on opening and closing. The trim strips on the outside of the doors squeak and creak when pressed with a finger or when the cars travelling along. this can also be heard inside the car. I haven't sorted that one yet because i didn't fancy taking them off myself incase i broke them, so i'm taking it into my dealers on wednesday to let them sort it. I know i've gone on a bit so i'm sorry if you don't have a Stilo or yours doesn't have these problems. But if you do have one thats experiencing these problems, then now i hope you can rest easy knowing they can be rectified. I would be happy if anyone else with problems and possible solutions could Email me personally or via this forum. Pete Marshall Hull UK.
