I've got a 1.6 stilo activ, acceleration went first then a while later it wouldn't tick over, rac recovered and put on diagnostics saying it was the crank sensor. Local garage worked on it and lambda sensor and map sensor were replaced by them, I got it back off as after a week it still wasn't fixed. With the new map sensor the car won't start, with the old one in it starts but won't go over 3000 rpm and runs like a bag of cats, replaced crank sensor but made no odds, garage said throttle housing had come up as well in the codes, replaced that and made no odds again so completely at wits end as where to go next with it, any ideas anyone??!!!

Hi,
very strange how the 2 MAP sensors behave so differently..,
I would unplug a couple of sensor leads around the throttle body and see if it will rev any better ( limp home mode),
it does sound as if they were not too clued-up, maybe reconnected 2 leads the wrong way round..??
does the car read TEMP's correctly..??

Does sound as though they're replacing parts willy knilly.
One code will often trigger another -- the trick is finding the initiating fault!
My guess is that neither the crank sensor nor the original MAP sensor are at fault.
