stilo 05: can i remove wiper stalk without removing steering wheel?

Hi all, new to site and hoping for some words of wisdom(
went to pull out wiper stalk but looking at it, it seems like i have to remove the steering wheel to remove the top of the column to remove the wiper stalk housing to remove the wiper stalk. there's no way anybody designed a car like that, right?????????? don't know what i'm not seeing but if anybody could help out, maybe i could not spend the tonight:bang: :and instead be all worship::worship::worship:

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

The combined wiper, lights (and cruise control if fitted) switch fits around the upper steering column, so the airbag and steering wheel have to be removed before removing the switch.
