Alright all well as most of you know a lil while ago I spent a number of days with the girlfriend on hand sound deadening my car with dyna extreme, then installing all of my audio and doing a boot build. a few weeks on and it still sound awesome but the rattles I have in the car just seem to be getting louder and louder, the major one is my sunroof. basicly when you open the sunroof you will see a bar accross it at the front which moves up and down as it opens and closes this b*****d will not stop rattling any suggestions at all. also i still have 1 roll of extreme left which i plan to use when i fit my speakers in the rear quarters I was just wondering how easy it is to get them out to do this will I need to take apart the boot build again.
cheers Danny

The plastic-y bits around the sunroof on my old 1.6 rattled like buggery so i slipped some kitchen roll into the crevises i could access and it never rattled again. Who needs dynamat extreme?

mine is actually the metal bar that goes accross the front the so how would i stop that.

about 10 in total should i do another layer on the doors the have 2layers at the mo.

Loads in the boot hatch, the sides of the boot goin forward to just in the rear quarters then in the doors. and very little on the boot floor.

When you say 'loads in the boot & door' where exactly have you put it?

I took off the hatch and put it on every bit of bare metal i could find 3layers thick, then with the doors i took of the trim and firstly done where the driver for my comps sit then covered every bit of metal i could get to again. I tell you what il do il buy another few rolls and cover the doors again a few times and a few layers on the rear quarters. but to be honest it soumds like alot of the noise is nw coming up through the dash other then the sunroof.

not 100% which is which but on the boot i done the what i think is the outer (the hardest one to get at)
on the doors the inner as the outer was a bastard.

You need to do the outer on the door. As well as the back of the door trim.

Ok cheers mate as i said il buy some more and have a go any ideas with regards to the sunroof or noise coming from the dash.

where have you placed them too. did you have to take the whole dash out to do it.

Dont know why but when i put my subwoofer and comps in the HGT without any sound deadening it hardly rattled at all and that was with a tone test CD thats used to detect rattles! id say its better than my old 1.6 that was fairly well dynamatted. i only bought 5 rolls of extreme and now i cant hear a rattle unless my comps are playing too low. I got lucky with the HGT and id say its well solid.

The ashtray, the glovebox and the fusebox are the worst offenders.

yes they are is there any way to make them any better at all. how did you sound deaden your dash mate.
cheers Danny

Took off all the bits that would come off deadened every bit I could reach. Even took the glovebox lid apart.
